Will the weight of the rings damage my hair?

No. Hair fiber is as strong as a piece of copper wire with the same diameter as the hair and has elastic properties. It can stretch up to 20% before breaking when it is dry and 50% when wet. Hair breaks when a sudden force is applied. So despite the apparent strength of hair, it break if it is pulled too vigorously. This is the reason why the removal of glued extensions can damage the hair follicle and scalp as the removal requires the application of excessive force to break the bonds.
